Rose M. Donato went peacefully to be with our Lord on Friday, January 8, 2010 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. Rose had spent the last three weeks in the Cortland area to be closer to family and convalesce after recent surgery.  Rose was born on January 19, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Anthony & Angelina Visco. She is predeceased by her husband Bernard Donato and brothers James, Dominick, and Louis Visco. She is survived by her daughters Marilyn (Peter) Paradise, Donna Power; granddaughters Marisa Paradise, Dorothy Ogrodowczyk, and Caroline Power ; her sister Mary Papadoyianis; sister-in-laws Marian Visco, Patricia Visco and Ellen Donato along with several nieces and nephews.  Rose graduated from Nott Terrace High School and Albany Business College. She was employed by the General Electric Company for 30 years. Rose’s life will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, January 16 at 9:00am at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Rotterdam with Fr. Joseph Cebula officiating. Following the ceremony a reception will be held at Canali’s Restaurant. She will be entombed at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville. Rose most enjoyed the contacts with family and friends.  Special thank you to the Rotterdam Paramedics, the friends and neighbors for their continuous kindness and support especially: Gary Abeel, Donna Crandall, Michele Crandall, Barbara McGuire, Dannita Farina, Donald Paradise and her best friends Sheila Hutchinson and Don De Angelus. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be to the Rotterdam Paramedics or Our Lady of Assumption Church.
