Linda Arlene Rich

March 24, 1940 — June 5, 2026

Linda Arlene Rich (née Swartz, aka Richman) passed away in the early morning of June 5, 2026 at 86 years old. Linda, born March 24th, 1940, was a creative visionary. She never met a vintage cookie jar she didn’t collect. She spent over 50 years in children’s fashion, designing and curating fabulous showstoppers for the most fashionable of tykes. She loved Broadway plays, fur coats, lobster tails, and her late husband Manny Rich.

Linda grew up in the Jewish enclaves of the Bronx in the 1940s, after the end of World War 2. Her family spent their summers, like many Jews do, up in the Catskill Mountains drinking ice cream sodas and breathing the country air. This balance of city and country living as a fashionable kid inspired Linda to become a trendsetter in children’s clothing.

She founded the children’s boutique “Just For Me” and later “New Moon Kids” across NYC. Her designs were influential in the children’s clothing industry for decades, selling millions of units over her lifetime. All while married and raising two kids in Queens, NY.

In the early 1990s, Linda met Manny Rich (Sept 1937-February 12, 2026). Together, the two split their time between Jersey City, NJ, Margaretville, NY, and their innumerable world-wide adventures. When not travelling, Linda would spend her days reading on a sunny hammock or vintage shopping. The family joked that her car bumper sticker should be “Will Brake for Tag Sales”. Her vintage children’s book collection was a site to behold.

She is survived by her sister Judith Shyne; her daughter Helene Richman (Lee Davidow); her son David Richman (Carrie Richman); and her 3 grandchildren, Sara Richman Davidow, Jessica Richman (Alex Jalazo), and Matthew Richman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you have some coffee ice cream and celebrate your loved ones.
