Raymond G. Reynolds, age 67, of 35 Buck Rd., Lansing, NY, passed away at the Hospicare Residence on Friday, May 28, 2010.

Born in Auburn, NY on April 11, 1943, Ray was a son of the late Ralph and Helen (Morrison) Reynolds.  After high school, Ray served for six years in the US Army Reserves.  He spent most of his working years self-employed as a carpenter, and was well known in the Lansing area as an apple grower.  One of Lansing School District’s greatest sports supporters, it was rare for Ray to miss a game in any season.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara (Marino) Reynolds; a daughter, Beth Reynolds (W. Lee Kraus) of Danby, and their children, Will, Evan, Owen and Alex Kraus, who fondly referred to Ray as “Grandpa Apple”;  a son Jason Reynolds (Michelle Moody) of Lansing, and their son, Quintin Reynolds.

Ray is also survived by his brothers, William, Lawrence “Gene”, and Clair Reynolds; sister, Charlotte Bancroft, mother-in-law, Florence Marino; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and over 600 beloved antique apple trees.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a sister, Cora Liddy.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Ray’s family to help offset his many medical expenses.

Family will be present to receive friends at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY, on Friday, June 4, 2010, from 10 – 11am.  A memorial service will begin at 11am at the funeral home.
