William August “Bill” Cook passed away at home on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the age of 80.

Born March 23, 1929 in Montague, MA, he was a son of the late Charles V. and Wanda A. (Stark) Cook, Sr.

After graduation from Greenfield High School in Massachusetts, Bill attended Springfield College in Springfield, MA where he earned his undergraduate degree, and earned his masters degree from Columbia Teachers’ College.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  Bill was a dedicated teacher and school administrator in a variety of locations in the northeast.  He and his family settled in Bourne, MA, where he retired after serving 30 years in public education.

Bill was a life-long Red Sox fan and an avid runner, marathoner, gardener and bridge player.

In addition to his wife, Billie, he is survived by daughters, Bonnie (Jim) Blair of Lansing, NY, Jacqueline (Peter) Greaney of Columbia MD, and Beth Cook of Alexandria, VA; a son, Charles (Julie) Cook of Springfield, VA; grandchildren Marie & Amy Greaney; Billy, Charlie, Emily & Danny Cook; and James & Carly Blair.

Bill is also survived by two brothers, Charles V. Cook, Jr. of Greenfield, MA and Craig S. (Nina) Cook of Buckeye, AZ.
