Kimberly Anne Spencer, age 37, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 8, 2010.

Born in Ithaca, August 10, 1972, she was a daughter of Terry L. Teeter and Margaret Lang Teeter.  Kimberly was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1990 graduate of Lansing High School.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #1253, a former member and commissioner of the Lansing Fire Department and she was a small fry cheerleading coach.  Kimberly was a true social butterfly; she enjoyed people and was gifted with the ability to easily strike up a conversation with anyone.  She enjoyed politics and had recently become interested in motorcycling.  Always a sharp dresser, she took great pride in her appearance and always liked to look her best; and she quite possibly may have been the proverbial “Shoe Queen”.

The primary focus in Kimberly’s life was her children, Sara and Caleb.  A loving Mother, Daughter and Sister, she will be truly missed by many.

Kimberly is survived by her husband, James Spencer of Lansing; her children, Sara and Caleb Spencer of Lansing; special companion, Kevin Markowski of Erieville;  father, Terry (Liz) Teeter of Lansing; mother, Margaret Teeter of Freeville; sister, Meegan (Jamie) Babcock of Dryden; brothers, Christopher (Danielle) Harrington of Newfield and Michael (Mary) Harrington of PA; grandmother, Mable Teeter of Groton.  Kimberly is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Jordan and Jacob Babcock of Dryden, and Colleen Cavanaugh of Oneida, with whom she was especially close; aunts, uncles, cousins as well as her husband’s family.  Kimberly also shared a close relationship with the Markowski family.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for the Spencer children.  Contributions may be directed to The Sara & Caleb Fund, C/O Sue Lason, Tompkins Trust Co., PO Box 460, Ithaca, NY 14851.

Family will be present to receive friends from 4 – 7pm, Thursday, February 11, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Ftr. Scott Kubinski, will be held at 10am, Friday, February 12, at All Saints Catholic Church, 347 Ridge Rd., Lansing, NY.  Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lansing, NY.
