Richard S. “Rick” Clink, 64, passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by family on February 12, 2024. Born in Waterloo, NY, he was the son of the late John Jr. and Shirley (Ploss) Clink. After attending high school, Rick enlisted in the US Army and served in law enforcement for over 17 years until receiving an honorable discharge in 1995 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. In the following years, he was employed as a truck driver for Schneider and woodworker at McKenzie-Childs before settling in at Cayuga Medical Center, where he served as the Director of Safety and Security for 23 years.
Over the years, Rick enjoyed family camping trips and get-togethers. His hobbies included woodworking, metal detecting and coin collecting, and he took great pleasure in flying his drone, walking the fields with his buddies, Scout and Gunner, and especially mowing his lawn. Go Bills!
In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by his son, Ricky Brooks; and siblings, Kelvin, Virginia, Lisa and Michael. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 26 years, LouAnne (Graf) Clink; children, Bridget (David) Traylor, Jennilee (Brent) Same, Christopher (Christina Leo) Clink and Kayla (Jake Vroman) Clink; step-children, Matthew (Sean) Jones-McCann and Christina (Jean) Nardozzi-Forsyth; daughter-in-law, Mindy Brooks; siblings, John (Sue Morgan) Clink, Carol (Ron) McCray and Laurie (Will Crisp) Clink; brother-in-law, Rick Mix; beloved furry family members, Scout and Gunner; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
