Mrs. Zewdinesh Gebereyes, an Ethiopian native, age 92 of Ithaca, passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on October 25, 2017. Family members were in prayers and singing her favorite hymns by her side at her passing. Born January 7, 1925 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Zewdinesh was a daughter of the late Gebereyes Geberehana and Ayelech Wolde. In addition to her parents, Zewdinesh was preceded in death by her husband, Mulugetta Wolde Georges, one brother and four sisters.She is survived by three sons: Dr. Abraham Mulugetta, Mesfin Mulugetta, and Hiskias Mulugetta; five daughters: Kindest Mulugetta, Martha Mulugetta, Selamewit Mulugetta, Sophia Mulugetta, and Segenet Mulugetta; a daughter-in-law, Dr. Yuko Mulugetta;10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and three brothers and one sister in Ethiopia.Mrs. Gebereyes was a devoted worshiper of Jesus Christ through her life. As God’s Ambassador, she touched so many people with unconditional love.A private funeral service, officiated by Rev. Tim Dean, will begin at 11am, Saturday, October 28th, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY, followed by prayers of committal at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
