Winona J. Krom

Winona “Noni” Jane Krom, 83, of Lansing, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Born in Ithaca on May 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Yvonne (Thomas) Krom. Noni retired in 2002 after 22 years with Therm, Inc. in Ithaca. During her time there as an International Customer Service Representative, she traveled frequently and fondly remembered her time in Europe.

For over 60 years, Noni was a member of the Lansing Lions Club, which was very important to her. She also taught baton in the 1970s, was a swim instructor at Lansing Central School District for over two years, and coached cheerleading for 11 years. At the school district, she also instructed teachers how to use A/V equipment. At her home, she operated a ceramic studio and gift shop.

Noni is survived by her children, Robert (LauraLee) Hoaglin, Jr. of Lakeville, MN, Thomas Hoaglin of Lansing, NY, Michael (Amy) Hoaglin of McLean, NY, and Yvonne (Grady) Whittenburg of Lansing, NY; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Geraldine Pirro, and daughter-in-law, Julie Hoaglin.

A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to noon at Lansing United Methodist Church, 32 Brickyard Road, Lansing. A memorial service will begin at 12:15 p.m. at the church and will be live streamed on the church's YouTube Channel. Interment will be private in North Lansing Cemetery.
