Shirley J. Dodge

Shirley J. Dodge, age 75, passed away June 14, 2012, at Cayuga Ridge in Ithaca.

Born March 25, 1937 in Montour Falls, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth C. and Josephine A. (O’Connor) Auble. For nearly 25 years, Shirley was an Avon Representative, and she helped numerous families in the Trumansburg area as a caregiver. A fixture in the community, Shirley was a person you just expected to see around town. She touched so many lives over the years, young and old, and her presence will be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janie Auble, and her brothers, Kenneth and Richard Auble.

Shirley is survived by her husband, William S. Dodge; their three sons, Keith Dodge of Trumansburg, Kenneth Dodge of Odessa, and William R. Dodge of Trumansburg; and a sister-in-law, Marion Auble of Burdett.

Friends are invited to visit with Shirley’s family from 3-5pm, Sunday, June 24th, at the Trumansburg Farmer’s Market Park. Interment at Union Cemetery in Hector will be private.
