Sharon Campbell

Sharon Argetsinger Campbell, 82, of Lansing, NY, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on June 10, 2024 at Hospicare in Ithaca, NY.  Born November 23, 1941, in Ithaca, she was the daughter of the late Merton and Viola (Niemi) Argetsinger.  Following graduation from Lansing High School in 1959, Sharon attended the Robert Packer School of Nursing and earned her nursing degree in 1962.  She was first employed by Tompkins County Hospital from 1962 to 1985, and then the Tompkins County Health Department from 1985 until her retirement in 1997.  Nursing was a true calling for Sharon, and she devoted her life to taking care of others in their time of need.

Sharon loved spending time with her family—especially grandchildren—during her retirement and enjoyed shopping whenever she had the chance.  She was a member of the North Lansing Auxiliary and United Church of Genoa.

On February 23, 1963, Sharon married Dale B. Campbell, and together, they raised a family that grew to three children and four grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Karen S. (Don) Hradisky, Brenda M. (Joel) Meade and Gale J. Campbell; grandchildren, Troy V. Hradisky, Shane H. Hradisky, Brittney M. Meade and Logan F. Meade; sister, Gale (Neil) Stockton; and brother, Gary (Karen) Argetsinger.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing.  A funeral service, officiated by her Pastor Barrie Lyn Foster, will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the United Church of Genoa, 10070 Route 90, Genoa.  Private interment will be in Asbury Cemetery, Lansing.
