Sally J. Macey Baker

Sally J. (Macey) Baker, 89, of Newfield and formerly of Lansing, NY, passed away on May 29, 2022, at Seneca View in Montour Falls, NY, following an extended illness.  Born on July 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Halstander) Macey.  Sally was employed at A&P for 20 years, working as a cashier and clerk in the meat department, and then went on to work at Ames for three years.  She enjoyed camping, bowling, craft work, and all of her children and grandchildren’s activities.

Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Charles “Chuck” R. Baker, Jr., on December 5, 2012; her son, George Dudley Baker; and her granddaughter, Nikki.  She is survived by her children, Joan Snyder (Don), Charlie Baker, Dick Baker, and Duane Baker (Lisa); grandchildren, Diane, Jamie, Duane, Michelle, Steven, Josh, Heather, Cody, Alexa, Wyatt, Andrew, and Jared; and multiple great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be led by Pastor John Sotero at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Ludlowville Pine Grove Cemetery, Ridge Road, Lansing.  A reception will follow at Ithaca First Assembly of God, 197 Bostwick Road, Ithaca, NY 14850.
