Roberta “Bobbi” Pollack, 77, passed away on August 23, 2026, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was a resident of EcoVillage at Ithaca and, for the past 34 years, shared her life with her beloved partner, Ro.
Bobbi grew up in the New York City area, living in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Long Island. She began working as a teenager, delivering prescriptions, and that strong work ethic remained a defining part of her life. Over the years, she worked as a gym teacher, convenience store manager, bread-route and cake delivery driver, and in grocery marketing. She was always willing to work hard to support herself.
Bobbi and Ro made their home outside White Plains, where they regularly hosted classes and gatherings and tended a productive garden. Their eventual move to the EcoVillage in Ithaca following Bobbi’s retirement was a natural next chapter and became an opportunity for her to grow, connect, and become an integral part of the community.
Bobbi had a gift for bringing people together. She organized a social Sundays group and was involved with a Westchester network of holistic practitioners. She studied Reiki and Tellington Touch and was always finding ways to stay active, often participating in some type of sport. She also had a deep love for animals and volunteered at animal shelters. In recent years, she enjoyed staying busy as a dog walker and helping care for her neighbors' pets.
Retirement did little to slow Bobbi down. At EcoVillage, she cut the grass, worked with membership, and made a point of getting to know everyone in the community. She loved the natural surroundings and took great delight in the wildlife that surrounded her. Whether she simply loved being productive or, as those who knew her might say, "just needed to be busy," Bobbi brought energy, kindness, and connection to everything she did.
Bobbi will be deeply missed by her partner of 34 years, Ro; her sisters, Diana and Judy; and the many friends, neighbors, and members of the communities she touched throughout her life.
Family and friends are welcome to attend Bobbi’s burial service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Greensprings Natural Cemetery Preserve in Newfield, NY.
