It is with great sorrow that the family of Richard A. Pinney announces his passing. He left us on June 25, 2025. Dick served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Masons, the Lions Club, the Elks and the Moose Club. In 1962, he married his beloved wife Florence and in 1968 moved to Lansing with their 3 small children. In 1969, Dick left the Union and purchased his first backhoe. In 1971, Dick and Flo started their business, LRS Excavating, Inc. Operating all the equipment was the main thing Dick enjoyed right up into his 80’s. He also spent many years on Cayuga lake, filled with boat rides and peaceful sunsets.
Dick is predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Flo Pinney. He is survived by his 3 children, Lori (Tom) Milbyer of Bradenton, FL, Richard Pinney Jr. of Lansing, and Scott (Tracy) Pinney of Lansing; his grandchildren: Matthew, Nate, Alex, Zachary, Rachel, Colter, Caitlin and Steven; and his great-grandchildren: Vincent, Logan, Evelyn, Julianna, Aurora and Madison. He is also survived by his companion of 26 years, Carmelita Mix, the last love of his life, her 4 children, their children and many great-grandchildren who were a big part of his life. Dick and Carmen spent many happy years in Bradenton, FL enjoying the beach and each other’s company.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Lansing United Methodist Church, 32 Brickyard Road, Lansing. A reception will follow, with details to be announced during the service.
