Raymond J. Farkas

Raymond J. Farkas passed away unexpectedly after a sudden illness on February 12, 2015.

Born February 24, 1948 in Ithaca, Ray was a son of the late John M. Farkas and Blanche H. Farkas.  Ray proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was formerly employed with Cayuga Crushed Stone Inc. and Lansing Central School District, Ray was most recently enjoying his “retirement job” at Carquest in Lansing.

Ray is survived by his daughter, Lynn Day (Matthew) of Lansing; grandsons, Michael & Tyler. Siblings, Chris (Donna) Farkas of Cortland, Michael (Carol) of Lyndonville, Joel (Lea) Farkas of Italy, Howard Makela of Groton, Linnea Makela of Baldwinsville, Steven (Brenda) Makela of Lansing; and was preceded in death by a sister Dorinda Makela. Ray is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family.

Interment, with Military Honors, will occur in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca.
