Ralph Jomaine Welch

Ralph Jomaine Welch, 48, of Ithaca New York, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 1, 2022, after a short but difficult battle with Pancreatic Cancer.  He was born on Monday, May 27, 1974, to the late Ralph and Eva Mae Welch of Tuscaloosa and Andalusia Alabama.

Ralph grew up in Ithaca New York, where he attended high school in the City of Ithaca School district.  In his school age years, he participated in the boxing program through the Greater Ithaca Activities Center and also enjoyed playing basketball for a short time while attending the Newfield School District. Jomaine’s greatest passion was for music; he loved making beats and “spittin” lyrics with his homies.

He was a dedicated employee for Myers Water Transfer – Hydroedge Solutions, working long hours in the oil fields for many years.  He traveled and worked in several locations from Ohio to Virginia and all throughout the state of Pennsylvania making many friends within his company.

He is survived by his children, Quincy & Nautica Welch-Moss of California, Zachary Ferguson-Welch of Kansas, and Malik Snyder of Pittsburgh, PA; his siblings, Dora Lee Welch, Darlene Furlong, Jonathan Welch, Donya Welch, Shannon and Draper Welch, and Diane Woodward; and many Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and extended family that he loved so dearly.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Eva Mae Welch, and his loving sister, Valarie Collins.

Maino, as his friends would call him, will forever be remembered for his amazing contagious smile, his quick wit, and unforgettable musical talent with freestyle lyrics that would roll off his tongue.

Jomaine will be missed by all who knew him but especially by his loving family, his children, and his closest friends.

The family wishes to thank everyone for the love, kindness and prayers extended to them at this most difficult time.

A special thank you extended to his special friends, Denise Malone and Theresa Borden, and his brother-in-law, Bruce McDonald.
