Born April 17, 1956, in Ann Arbor, MI, Peter was the 2nd of 3 sons of Richard and Karin Lindh Bodycombe, who survive him. A graduate of Huron High School in Ann Arbor, Peter loved nature and art, earning a Bachelorâs degree in Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. He designed and oversaw projects in Michigan, Washington D.C., and Florida before settling in New York to marry his high school sweetheart, Diane Stone.

In addition to his daily work, Peter was passionate about professional development for young designers and collaborated with the NYS Nursery & Landscape Association to develop their nurseryman and professional landscape certificate program for his local district. Beyond landscaping, he was a kind and generous person who brightened othersâ days with his smile and optimism. In the winter he volunteered at the Caroline Food Pantry, supported many environmental and social justice causes, and, together with his wife, was a member of the Brooktondale Farmersâ Market. Peter was devoted to his dogs Clyde and Jasmine.
Known to his childhood friends as `Bodâ, Peter had a streak of mischief and warmth that made it easy to love him. He cared so much for the people around him, and his many close friends are heartbroken by his early passing. In addition to his parents and wife, Peter is survived by his step-daughter, Melissa McClure (Ruud Visser) of MI; his elder brother, Brian (Lori) Bodycombe, and their daughter Brooke Souder (Mark) of MI; his younger brother Chris (Laura) Bodycombe, their son, and Peterâs godson, Jonathan of MO; a brother-in-law, Wayne (Cindy) Stone, and their daughters, Nicole and Lindsay of IN.
