Nancy H. Milligan

Nancy Lee (Howell) Milligan, 84, formerly of Lansing, NY, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, following a brief stay at Groton Community Healthcare Center. Born in Ithaca, NY, on May 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Harold F. “Shorty” and Charlotte Irene (Calhoun) Howell. Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Lansing Central Schools and went on to work as the purchasing clerk for the Lansing Central School District for 20 years.

Nancy married the late Robert J. Milligan on August 13, 1960, and as their life together began, so did Nancy’s love of dirt track racing. After Robert’s passing in 1998, Nancy’s passion for racing of all kinds continued with their daughter, Julianne. Nancy also loved horses and trucks, and she was a frequent customer of QVC.

In addition to her husband Robert, Nancy was preceded in death by her father Harold in 2001, mother Charlotte in 2003, brother-in-law Paul Edward “Pete” Barron in 2012, and daughter Julianne “Jules” Milligan in 2019. She is survived by her brother, Harold L. Howell (Helen); sister, Judy H. Howell Barron; nieces, Karen Huether (John), Robin Cargian (Jeffrey) and Kathy Barron; nephews, Alvin Howell and Michael Howell (Heather); and several great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Lansing Funeral Home. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Sam Neno, will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by interment in Lansingville Cemetery.
