Michael Allen Glass

Michael Allen Glass, 42, of Etna, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019, at Cayuga Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.  Born on February 24, 1977, he was the son of Rodney and Sheila (Long) Glass.

Mike was self-employed as a stone mason and enjoyed fishing and camping in his free time.  He also enjoyed singing, writing poetry, and playing chess and cards—especially Texas Hold’em. Mike was jokester with a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party. His greatest love was taking care of his son and being an amazing single father.  Mike would walk him all the way to school, even when he could barely walk himself.

In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his children, Hope, Michael, Ashley Melody and Kaden; several grandchildren; sisters, Angela (Edward) Sullins, Jennifer (Joshua) Ryant, Valerie (Joe) Lyon and Christina Glass (Michael Anderson); and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

Friends and family are invited to a calling hour on Thursday, July 25, 2019, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing, NY 14882.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be private in Ludlowville Pine Grove Cemetery.
