Mary L. Ostrander

Mary L. Ostrander, 57, of Freeville, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, following a courageous battle with breast cancer.  Born in Cortland, NY, she was the daughter of Marvin and Marian Beckley Ostrander.  Mary was a 1979 graduate of Lansing High School and worked at Vanguard Printing in Freeville until their closing.

Mary loved her family and always had a smile on her face, even in her final days.  She had a huge heart and was extremely giving.  As a final gift, Mary donated her corneas to be used by someone in need.  In her free time, Mary liked the thrill of the hunt for a bargain and also enjoyed reading—especially romance and mystery.

In addition to her parents, Mary is survived by her son, Scott Ostrander; siblings, Harold (Kathy) Ostrander, Janice (Bruce) Deigl, JoAnne (Robert) Payne, Ronald (Tammy) Ostrander, and Barbara (BJ) Stamp; special cousins, Pam and Bob Mayberry; dear friend, Margery Lipenski-Graham; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing, NY 14882.  Burial will take place at a later date in North Lansing Cemetery.
