Margaret Rundle, age 93, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2015 at Cortland Regional Nursing Facility.

Born August 28, 1921 in Sherwood, NY, she was a daughter of the late Morgan Myers and Luella Fortner Myers Smith. Margaret had spent most of her life in the King Ferry, Moravia and Cortland area.

She was retired from the Crescent Corset factory in Cortland in 1981. A hard worker all her life, she typically held two jobs simultaneously while always finding time to care for others. She was active with the Cortland American Legion, Moose Lodge, Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

In her spare time she enjoyed camping, bowling, and followed many sporting events, especially cheering on the Buffalo Bills and the SU Orange.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Rundle; daughter, Carol Fickeisen; son, Gary Berrells; brothers, Glenn, Laverne, Leonard, and George Myers; and sister, Lorena Hall.

Margaret is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Ferris (Jamie) of Lansing, Joy Fickeisen (B. Kelly Wilcox) of Syracuse and John Kilroy (Sandy) of Florida; great grandchildren, Adele, Grace and Laura Ferris; Colt and Cameron Kilroy; and a large extended family.

Family will be present to receive friends from 1-2 pm, Thursday, February 19th, at the Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY. A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jane Sautter, will immediately follow at 2pm.

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to the Disabled American Veterans, Hospicare of Ithaca or an organization of one’s choosing.
