Margaret “Peg” Wilkinson Ebersold passed this world on March 11, 2023 at home with family present. Born in Ithaca, NY to the late Ernest L. and Margaret Lynch Wilkinson on April 21, 1931, she lived for the majority of her life in Lansing, NY.
Upon graduating Ithaca High School in 1949, she worked briefly in one of Ithaca’s local banks. Following this work, she became the mother of her children whom she loved dearly. In 1966, she married the love of her life, the late Edward E. Ebersold. Together, they raised their family and enjoyed their many grandchildren and subsequent great-grandchildren. As the children grew, she decided to once again enter the workforce and became a sales clerk and subsequently manager of Flowerama at the Pyramid Mall. This affiliation led to her becoming a member of the Pyramid Mall Board and friends to numerous business owners and co-workers.
Peg enjoyed many activities in her lifetime, including riding her horses in rodeos, ice skating on Cascadilla Creek, watching and attending car races, riding motorcycles, gardening, spending time at the cottage located in Canoga, NY, and music of every kind. However, the most enjoyment to her was having her family spending holidays, special occasions, and picnics with her. It was at those times she would light up with joy! As soon as one gathering was completed, she would start planning the next.
Margaret is survived by her children: Karen Fuller, Cortland, NY; Robert Homan, Freeville, NY; Roger (Michelle) Homan, Lansing, NY; and John (Janice) Homan, Prosperity, SC; Grandchildren: Melanie Koehler, Prescott, AZ; Christopher (Sarah) Miller, Sempronius, NY; Rachel Miller (Matt Nichol) Cortland, NY; John Fuller (Kate), Maryland; Madison (Josh) Turner, South Carolina; Sarah Tobey, Cortland, NY; Lillian Fuller, Delanson, NY and Jessica Homan, Long Island, NY; and Great-Grandchildren: Tanner Miller, Prattsburg, NY; Haley Miller, Dryden, NY; Paige Williams, Cortland, NY; Rowan Tobey, Cortland, NY; Mackenzie Hillicoss, Delanson, NY; and Juniper Tobey, Cortland, NY. Margaret also held a special place in her heart for her cousin Judy Rumsey as well as her husband’s family. In addition to her husband Edward, Margaret’s daughter, Colleen Homan, and Grandson, James “Clark” Miller, all of whom she loved dearly, predeceased her.
