Luann Alice (Iacovelli) Norman, age 69, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Elkland, PA, while surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. Born in Ithaca, NY, on November 3, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Bessie M. (Reeves) Iacovelli.
Luann was a graduate of Ithaca High School and had over 30 years of experience in the banking and credit union industry. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening in the summer and crafting. Luann loved crafting so much that she created “Country Designs,” her own crafting business that allowed her to travel and sell her creations at craft shows. Nothing was more important, however, than family gatherings and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Luann is survived by her children, Michael A. Norman (Courtney) and Lisa M. Trimble (Michael); grandchildren, Michael M. Norman, Ethan R. Trimble, James J. Norman, Patrick A. Norman and Ashtyn A. Norman; siblings, Yvonne “Bonnie” Sterling, Randall Ward (Toni) and Krista Tagliavento; and step-mother, Nancy J. Iacovelli. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Brian Sterling, Raymond Ward, Jr., Shawn Ward (Connie), Marcus Ward (Celeste), Joshua Tagliavento (Cayla), Shannon Ward (Rachel), Scott Ward, Nicole Ward and Johnny Tagliavento (Nicole). In addition to her parents, Luann was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Ward.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone involved in Luann’s care.
A note from Lisa: To the entire O’Dell and Hallett families, you have all been there for my family and me since day one; no matter the day or time, you were there, and all of the love and support from each of you was amazing. Also, thank you to every single person, family and friends, who has reached out to us with love and support. Jamie and Jasmine from Elcor—you both took such good care of our mom while she was a resident, and she loved that you both continued to check in on her after she came home. To the entire staff at UPMC Hospice Home Care—I don’t even know where to start. You all made sure that I had everything necessary to ensure mom was happy and comfortable. You were always there when I had questions or concerns, and for the care you provided not just for her, but for me also, I will forever be grateful.

Farewell Dear Mother
Somewhere in my heart beneath all my grief and pain, Is a smile I still wear, at the sound of your dear name. The precious word is ‘MOTHER’, she was my world you see, But now my heart is breaking cause she’s no longer here with me.
God chose her for His angel to watch me from above, To guide me and advise me and know that I’m still loved. The day she had to leave me when her life on earth was through, God had better plans for her, for this, I surely knew.
When I think of her kind heart and all those loving years, My memories surround me and I can’t hold back the tears. She truly was my best friend, someone I could confide in, She always had a tender touch and a warm and gentle grin.
I want to thank you Mother for teaching me so well, And though the time has come that I must bid you this farewell. I’ll remember all you’ve taught me and make you proud you’ll see.
Thank you my Dear Mother for all the love you showed me. Although you’ve left this earth and now you’ve taken flight, I know that you are here with me each morning, noon and night.
