Loretta Jane Van Bortle Henrie

Loretta Jane Van Bortle Henrie died peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 88 on Sunday March 11, 2018 at Hospicare, Ithaca NY. She is survived by her eight children, thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Louise (David Flanagan), William, Janet (Larry Lockshin), Douglas (Ellen Bown), Faye (Benjamin Fairchild), Thomas (Karen Scherberger), John (Kathleen Sheridan), Robert. Her grandchildren are Nevin (Jenna) &Tavis Flanagan, Clare (Matt), Jeb and Liam Henrie, Hannah and Nat (Mandy) Lockshin, Julia and Alexander Fairchild, Nora and Madeline Henrie, Collin and Nolan Henrie.

Her great grandchildren are Amira and Lior Lockshin, and Lucas Robinson-Henrie.

Loretta was born February 16, 1930 in Fairport and had resided in Syracuse, Middlesex and Ithaca NY. She enjoyed nature, pressing flowers and listening to the peepers in the spring. She enjoyed cooking and baking cakes. Music played an important part of her life. She was dearly loved by her family and many friends and cherished for her wit and kindness.

A funeral service will be held at 11am, Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the All Seasons Chapel at Whitehaven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Rd., Pittsford NY, immediately followed by interment.
