Lewis M. “Lou” Morse, Jr., 88, of King Ferry, NY died July 24, 2025, at home while surrounded by family. He was born in the Town of Dryden on November 29, 1936 to Lewis M. and Genevieve (Corgel) Morse. Following graduation from Dryden Central School, Lou enlisted in the US Army in 1955 and was primarily stationed in Germany until receiving an honorable discharge in1958. Lou leased and owned several gas stations and worked for UPS for 24 years, retiring in 1994. During retirement, he spent six months of the year at his winter home in Lakeland, FL, where he enjoyed golfing, spending time with his Florida friends, and the warm weather.
Lou is survived by his wife of 69 years, Linda (Weibly) Morse; his children, Susan (Noble) Keeney, Stephen (Christina) Morse, Scott (Pilar) Morse, and Andrew (Mary) Morse; special son, Michael (Joni) Geiger; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Thelma Ellis and William Morse; sister-in-law, Cheryl Morse; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Frances (Floyd) Sears; and brothers, James and Alfred Morse.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing. A graveside service, led by Fr. Matthew Binkewicz, will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lansing, where military honors will be accorded. A luncheon will follow, to be announced during the service.
