Laura L. Green

Laura Louise (Marks) Green, 97, of Lansing, passed away on September 22, 2021, at Seneca View in Montour Falls, NY. Born May 28, 1924 in Genoa, NY, she was one of ten children born to the late Joseph and Sarah Marks.

After growing up in Genoa, Laura lived in Lansing and retired from Cornell in 1989. She enjoyed her retirement—volunteering at the North Lansing Fire Auxiliary, Food Pantry and the Lansing United Methodist Church, of which she was a founding member. Most of all she cherished her family; each and every one held a special place in her heart.

Laura was predeceased in 1997 by her loving husband Clarence A. Green Jr., whose memories stayed with her throughout the years. She was also predeceased by her daughter Betty Masten (Orrin), grandson D. Martin White, great-grandson Matthew Murray, four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy White (Doug) and Kathleen Dedrick (Roger); brother, Jim Marks; grandchildren, Tammy Murray (Todd Frendack), Connie Masten, Amy Horner (Kevin), Kimberly Sherwood (Chip), Evan Masten (Beth), Valerie Dedrick, Allison Dedrick (Andre Crawley) and Veronica Dedrick; 15 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Laura’s wishes, services will be private. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.
