Connelly, Laura Anne Lyon, 88, died on 2/21/2012 at her home in Kendal at Ithaca after a brief illness. She was born in Albany, NY on 1/23/24 and spent most of her life in the Albany area. She had several successful careers as a kindergarten teacher, great mom, and travel consultant. She was predeceased by her parents (Floyd and Laura Lyon) and her husband (John Connelly). Laura Anne is survived by her daughter (Nancy), her daughter’s partner (Meg Ackerblade), her travel companion (Julian Smith), and many friends. The family would like to thank all the staff at Kendal for their incredible loving care. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. Burial will be private, at a later date. Nancy and Meg invite friends to visit their home at 1149 Dryden Rd. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 1:00-4:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Tompkins County.
