Kerri Leigh Renner, 48, passed away at her home in Chenango Forks, NY, on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Kerri was born on Staten Island on July 2, 1977, to Richard and Carolyn Brown. She has three brothers: Mark, David, and Stephen. She was married to Jeff Renner on May 4, 2019, on Indianhead Mountain, in the Catskill Mountains, Greene County, NY. Kerri had a bachelor’s in English Literature from SUNY Binghamton, and a master’s in Childhood Education from SUNY Cortland. She worked as a pre-school teacher at the JCC in Vestal and as a Kindergarten aide at Port Dickinson Elementary School, part of Chenango Valley CSD.

She played volleyball in high school and continued to play in leagues throughout and after college. She loved the outdoors and was an avid hiker, hiking most of the Catskill Mountains, several Adirondack Peaks, and many US National Parks. Kerri also loved to experience different cultures and peoples, traveling extensively through most of the continental US, Hawaii, Central America, Europe, and New Zealand.

Kerri was caring, kind and giving, a gentle soul who touched the lives of many, befriending people everywhere she went and maintaining those friendships for a lifetime. She truly made the world a better place with her presence and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Jeff Renner; son Liam Lightner; father Richard; brothers Mark, David, and Stephen; nephews Joshua, Ben, Shea, Jack and Oliver; niece Emelia; cousins Ryan, Tifanny and Ashley; mother- and father-in-law James and Nancy; and brother- and sisters-in-law Stacey, Darrin, and Jodi. Kerri is predeceased by her mother Carolyn.

A burial service will be held at Greensprings Natural Cemetery Preserve in Newfield, NY on Monday, November 24, at 11:00 a.m.
