Kenneth W. Pietrowski

Kenneth “Ken” W. Pietrowski, age 83, passed away on Thursday, July 16th, 2026 surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Nina Pietrowski of Buffalo, New York, and his brothers Tony of Buffalo, New York, and David of Huntersville, North Carolina. He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children, Kim (Jim) and Kenny (Lotte); and his grandchildren, Justin, Jeffrey, Anna, Alec, Matthew, Mia; and his great-granddaughter, Sophia.

Born August 26th, 1942, in Buffalo, NY, Ken was the second of three sons and spent his young life in Western New York. Ken met the love of his life, Judy, in the eighth grade, and they had been together ever since. In 1961, Ken graduated from Erie Community College as valedictorian. Ken and Judy married on September 14th, 1963, and settled in Rochester, NY. In 1964, as Ken and Judy welcomed their daughter, Kim, into the world, Ken began taking night classes at Rochester Institute of Technology. He graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering and graduated at the top of his class once again. In 1967, Ken and Judy welcomed their son, Kenny, into the world. Ken was a loving husband and very involved father. In addition to working and attending night school, he always found time to remain physically active. While he played on his own recreational softball team, he always served as coach for both Kim’s and Kenny’s teams growing up.

Ken spent nearly 44 years at Xerox Corporation, retiring as a Principal Technology Manager. Throughout his tenure, Ken worked primarily in R&D, held several patents related to the technologies he worked on, became a Certified Green Belt in Design for Lean Six Sigma, and was a presenter at conferences across the country. His working years at Xerox spanned decades and the globe; some of his favorite work trips included his time spent in Belgium and Japan. In 2006, Ken retired after a long and successful career. He began to enjoy more time on the golf course and lots of time with his grandchildren, often visiting for weekend stays and enjoyed “popcorn parties” late into the night.

Seeking warmer weather and more golf days, Ken and Judy moved to Huntersville, North Carolina in 2007. Ken joined the Southenders, a social club for retired men, and found great joy in the friendships he formed there. He served as the group's joke teller for monthly luncheons, preparing his many, many jokes in the weeks leading up to the luncheon.

Family burial service will take place in August. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Hospice of Central New York & of the Finger Lakes, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. Lansing Funeral Home is assisting the family.
