Julie Dawn Hall

Sep 9, 1974 — Aug 23, 2026

North Syracuse, NY

Julie Dawn Hall, 51, of North Syracuse, passed away on August 23, 2026, following a nine-month battle with leukemia.

Julie was born on September 9, 1974, in Dickinson, North Dakota, the beloved daughter of Donald and Paulette Hall. As the daughter of a Navy serviceman, Julie spent part of her childhood living in Charleston, South Carolina, and San Diego, California, before her family settled in Liverpool, New York, in 1990. She graduated from Liverpool High School in 1992.

Julie enjoyed a lifelong career as a hairstylist and was truly a master of her craft. Her creativity was a defining part of who she was, both in her work and throughout her life. Just as special as her talent was her ability to connect with people. Julie had a natural kindness and warmth that put people at ease, and she had a special way with children while connecting just as easily with clients of all ages. Over the years, many of her clients became much more than clients, and the relationships she formed through her work were an important part of her life.

Julie was creative, individualistic, and unapologetically herself. She had her own sense of style, a love of music, and a personality that left an impression. Those who knew her will remember not only her talent, but her kindness, humor, spirit, and the countless stories and memories that came with knowing Julie.

Above all, Julie was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. The outpouring of stories and memories shared by those whose lives she touched is a testament to just how many people she impacted throughout her life.

Julie is survived by her daughter, Sarah Fogarty; her parents, Donald and Paulette Hall; her siblings, James (Renee) Hall, Jessica (Chris) Joerger, and Justin (Tara) Hall; her beloved nieces and nephews; along with her extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her longtime partner, Walter Fogarty.

In keeping with Julie’s wishes, services will be private, followed by a natural burial at Greensprings Natural Cemetery Preserve in Newfield, New York.

Family and friends are invited to come together for a Celebration of Life in Julie’s honor on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Freight Yard Brewing, 4975 State Route 31, Clay, NY 13041.

The celebration will be an opportunity to remember Julie as she lived—with music, stories, laughter, and the people who loved her. Friends are encouraged to stop in, share a memory, and help celebrate a life that touched so many.
