James Lee Holden, 73, passed away from pulmonary fibrosis on November 29, 2024. His family had been spending time with him since he was hospitalized several days prior. Pulmonary Fibrosis has no known cause, and no cure. James wanted to let each of us know he loved us today and the sentiment was returned. James was born in Ithaca in 1951. He attended Lansing Schools and worked for several years at T.G. Miller in Ithaca. He lived in Colorado for a few years before returning to Lansing to be close to his family. He is predeceased by his father, DeWayne E Holden; his brother, Mark O. Holden; his nephew, Nathan O. Holden (recently passed); and his faithful companion, his German Shepard - Hannah. He is survived by his mother, Joan H. Holden; his son, Jason (Amy) Holden; grandsons, Brendon and Tyler; siblings, Karen, Jeff (Vicki) and Joel Holden; nieces, Vanessa, Alexandra, Gina (Justin) and Veda (Max); and his cousins, John (Maggie) and Ronald (Kelly) Beardsley. James loved the Lansing area and especially Myers Park, where he spent many hours fishing and ruminating about life and the state of the world. He was a lifetime lover of animals, starting with Rebel, a pony he had in his youth. James requested that no calling hours or memorial service be held.
