Jackie Butler, 69, of Lansing, NY, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Born in Ithaca, she was the daughter of the late Byron and Josephine Campbell Stone. Jackie worked at Ithaco and later at BF Goodrich, from where she retired as a manager.
Jackie’s joy in life came from being grandma to her two grandsons, Tucker and Mason. Her grandkids and their sports were her life. She was also very close to and loved her sisters and the family dog, Jackson. In her free time, she enjoyed golf, visiting the casinos, and playing games—especially poker, euchre and scrabble.
Jackie is survived by her son, Jeremy (Kristen) Butler; grandchildren, Tucker and Mason Butler; sisters, Tania (Ray) Johnson, Verla Kannus, Donna Sue Duncan, Zae (Joe) Petricola, and Kay (Brian) Ford; and too many extended family members and friends to mention. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Butch Isenberger and Sharon Swartwood.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Ludlowville Pine Grove Cemetery, Ridge Road, Lansing, NY. A Celebration of Jackie’s Life will follow at noon at the LakeWatch Inn, 1636 East Shore Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jackie’s name may be directed to a charity to which she often contributed, the United Way of Tompkins County at www.uwtc.org/give or 313 North Aurora Street, Ithaca, NY 14850.

Jackie and I were coworkers for several years. She was really thoughtful, kind, and compassionate towards me during my difficult divorce which dragged on for years. May the good works she performed while on this earth be reflected in the glory of her eternal spirit.

My sincerest condolences to Jeremy, Tucker, Mason, and the rest of Jackie's family. Your mom and grandmother will be sorely missed by all of us who knew and worked with her. I learned much from Jackie during my 35 years at Ithaco/Goodrich and always appreciated her insightful input. She was open, direct, and helpful, offering appropriate critical advice and recommendations. I will especially miss her innate card sense and ability at the card table regardless of the game at hand.
