Harry A. Uhl, Sr., of Lansing, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on October 18, 2016, at the age of 70.
Born in Ithaca on September 29, 1946, Harry was a son of the late Charles and Dorothy Sherman Uhl. A lifelong area resident, Harry was married on December 23, 1967 to Deloris Leopolski Uhl, who preceded him in death. Harry was a US Navy Veteran and retired as a Master Installer with Heary Brothers Lightning Protection in Springville, NY. He was a member of the Groton American Legion, enjoyed camping, winters in Florida, playing cards, working in his garage, and was passionate for car racing, especially dirt track races and NASCAR. Harryâs family was close to his heart; he so loved all the family gatherings, especially the meals that everyone shared. His heart and home were open as he raised 4 children as his own, with his own.Â
In addition to his wife, Deloris, and his parents, Harry was preceded in death by a son, Harry Uhl, Jr.; sisters, Dorothy Gray, Charlotte Hoyte; brothers, Allen Uhl and Charles Uhl; and his beloved dog, Dale E.
Survivors include his children; Yvonne Dawson of Groton, Cindie Bobnick of King Ferry, JoAnn Davis (Jeff) of Lansing, Rick Uhl (Kelly Stalnaker) of Lansing, Michelle Uhl-Stark (Dick Stark) of Lansing; grandchildren, Crystal, Michelle & Dewey Dawson, Timothy & David Lane, Christopher Warner, Nicole Davis, Danielle & Harry Stark, Nick & Matt Stark, Haley, Maggie & Libby Tucker; honorary granddaughter, KayseJo Snyder; great grandchildren, Jayden, Michael, Olivia, Alana, Lizzy, JP; sisters, Cherl Heary (Bill), Agnes Burin; and a large extended family.

Family will be present to receive friends from 4-7pm, Friday, October 21, 2016, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY.  Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7pm.  A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Alison Schmied, will begin at 11am, Monday, October 24, at the funeral home. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at North Lansing Cemetery.
