Francis N. Chubarov

Trumansburg, NY

Francis N. “Frank” Chubarov died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 8, 2014 at the age of 74.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he graduated from Langley High School, and later received a business degree from LeMoyne College in Syracuse. For years, he worked for General Electric in the defense department. His work took him to most of the states, Europe, Turkey and Okinawa, Japan. He conducted defense-related research for 2 ½ years on the Thule base in Greenland. Frank later moved to Binghamton to join Singer Link, a company who specialized in airplane simulators. There he worked in the finance department as a scheduler and estimator. Since then, he had happily lived in the Trumansburg area for the past 20 years.

Frank always treasured his family and was a wonderful, loving father and partner. He will be missed for his compassionate nature, great sense of humor and playfulness, as well as his love for music and animals.

Frank will be dearly missed by Margrethe, his wife/partner of 49 years, his daughter Nicole (Brian) and daughter Michelle (Jason), and three grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Joe, and sister, Janet, both of Pittsburgh, PA; a nephew and a niece who both live in Copenhagen, DK.

The family held a private service on May 10th at Greensprings Natural Cemetery in Newfield.

Contributions in Frank’s name may be directed to SPCA of Tompkins County, 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.

Frank’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Oncology/CMC and Hospicare for their hard work and compassionate spirit.
