Danielle Ann Latham, 40, of Brooktondale, NY, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on the morning of June 30, 2026.
Born in Ithaca, Danielle was the daughter of Douglas and Donna (Besemer) Derr. She graduated from Ithaca High School while pursuing a degree in cosmetology and went on to build a successful salon business from her home.
Danielle brought warmth and joy wherever she went. She was known for her bubbly personality, kind heart, and ability to make those around her feel welcome. She was selfless, always willing to step in and help someone in need. A devoted and loving mother, Danielle’s greatest joy was spending time with her children. Her love for her family was the driving force behind her decision to operate her salon from home, allowing her to be present for the moments that mattered most.
Danielle was passionate about her work and deeply valued the relationships she built with her clients, many of whom became close friends. Naturally curious and always eager to learn, she was constantly researching and exploring new topics, no matter the subject. In her free time, Danielle enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors, and sharing morning coffee with her mom.
Danielle is survived by her loving husband, Brian “Chucky” Latham, and their three cherished children, Ava, Aria, and Aston. She is also survived by her parents, Douglas and Donna Derr; her sister, Dixie (Daren) Conklin; niece and nephew, Grace and Sawyer; parents-in-law, William and Millie Latham; siblings-in-law, Kimberly, Jamal, Kelly, Eric, and Kristin; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews, many of whom were like siblings to her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; brother-in-law, Tommy Latham; aunt, Judy Besemer; cousin, Julie Dean; and several other beloved family members.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Brooktondale Fire Station, 786 Valley Road, Brooktondale, NY.
Danielle’s daughters will always remember her encouraging words, “Go get ‘em girls.” She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her and the spirit of love, strength, and encouragement will remain with all who carry her memory forward.
