Brian James Cooper

Brian James Cooper, 58, of Groton, NY, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. Born in Ithaca, NY, on April 1, 1967, he was the son of Barbara J. (Burns) Cooper and the late Albert F. Cooper. Following graduation from Dryden Central Schools in 1986, Brian enlisted in the United States Army in 1989 and was honorably discharged in 1992. Upon his return to civilian life, he was employed by Norfolk Southern in Binghamton, NY, as a railroad laborer. Brian found enjoyment in hunting, fishing and classic cars. He was also a true jack-of-all-trades.

Brian is survived by his mother, Barbara J. Cooper; brothers, Jack and Thomas Cooper; and partner, Christine (Parker) Cooper.

A Celebration of Life for Brian will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 757 North Wood Road, Freeville, NY 13068. Family and friends are welcome to begin gathering at 1:00 p.m.
