Beatrice Davis

Beatrice “Bea” Davis, 87, of Lansing, passed away on June 30, 2023, at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca.  Born April 12, 1936, in Sherwood, NY, she was the daughter of the late George W. McKay, Sr. and Elsie (Peacock) McKay.  Bea was a 1954 graduate of Genoa Central School and was co-owner of Davis Graphic Services, Inc. from 1979 to 1989.  She later was employed by Lansing United Methodist Church as an office manager, retiring in 2004.

Bea was a member of the Lansing Lions from 1995 to 2005 and longtime member of the Lansing Senior Citizens and Woodsedge Tenants Association.  She was fondly known as the “Mayor of Woodsedge.”

Bea is survived by her children, Mitch (Faith) Classen, Shaunna (Dave) Halton, and Sandie (Scott) Grooms; stepchildren, Rick Davis, Jr., Jeff Davis, and Cheryl (Dan) Wunder; grandchildren, Charity (Paul) Cooper, Mattison (Lisa) Lott, Jason Halton, Cayla (Andrew) Thompson, Sheli (Mike) Leonardo, and Stephanie (Nick Gerlach) Grooms; step-grandchildren, Jocelyn Davis and Samantha Wunder; and loving friend and former spouse, Carl Classen.  She was lovingly known as G.G. to 12 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kim Davis; sister, Fran Peters; and brother, Bill McKay.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Road, Lansing.  Private interment will be in Lansingville Cemetery.
