Annette (Siegel) Corth

October 14, 1927 ~ October 1, 2018 (age 90)

“I have no ticket, but my bags are packed. I await the conductor’s call.”

As she wrote in one of her many poems, Annette Corth got that final call on October 1, 2018.  Annette was an artist in many forms, through her painting, her poetry, her garden, and her approach to life, she jumped into new adventures full on.

Born October 14, 1927 in New Jersey, she worked as a research librarian at Rutgers University.  Upon retirement to Ithaca, NY, she and her husband, Dick Corth, fully immersed themselves into the art scene, joining the Farmers Market to showcase their work and helping to start the State Street Gallery.  Some of Annette’s paintings can be seen currently at Transformations salon in Ithaca and many continue to hang in the halls of Longview where she lived since 2004.

Annette authored four books of her own poetry.  She loved the theater, word play, classical music, playing cards, and talking with friends and family.  She will be missed by her grandchildren Dakota, Cory, Sasha, Gabe, Moses and Ari, her stepchildren Alan, Susan, and Deborah, her dear friends Tony, Barbara, Perry and Pi, her cousin Naomi, and many, many others.

Never one to miss out on what she wanted, Annette planned and led her own Celebration of Life this past August, sharing her life and memories with so many of her good friends and family.  Always curious, and ready for a gathering and good food, she wanted to be around for her final party.

Burial will be Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Greensprings Natural Cemetery Preserve, 293 Irish Hill Road, Newfield, NY 14867.
